House District 55 Republican nominee Ralph Sheffield will host U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, R-Texas, in a fundraising event today.

Hutchison will speak at the luncheon and will be joined by a large contingent of the district’s other elected officials, including U.S. Rep. John Carter, R-Round Rock, State Sen. Troy Fraser, and State Reps. Jimmie Don Aycock, Sid Miller and Doc Anderson, who all will be on hand to show their support for Sheffield’s campaign.

“It’s a pleasure to have one of our state’s most respected public servants traveling to Bell County to support my campaign” Sheffield said in a campaign press release issued Monday. “Bell County is a key community in this state, and Senator Hutchison certainly recognizes that we need a strong, hard-working, conservative representative serving the citizens of the 55th District in Austin.”

The luncheon will be at the Special Events Room on the second floor of the Bell County Expo Center in Belton from noon to 1 p.m.

Hutchison also will tour Fort Hood during her visit to the area.
