GATESVILLE — The Leon Valley District of Boy Scouts of America, Longhorn Council, serves about 1,300 youth including Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venturers, Varsity Scouts and Explorers in 42 units including Packs, Troops, Crews, Teams and Posts.
The district’s current year funding allocation from the United Way of the Greater Fort Hood Area is $11,925, said John Coyle, Scout executive for the Longhorn Council.
