MOODY — A half dozen volunteers turned out Thursday morning to saw, lop, trim and drag deadwood to clear a trail at Mother Neff State Park.
The work to clear about a mile of trail, from the park headquarters to the prairie, is an ongoing project of the Central Texas Master Naturalists, said Yvonne Eele, coordinator of the monthly event.
Eele was joined by Zoe Rascoe, John and Mary Odom, Sue Valdez and Marilyn Whitworth for the workday, which is set for every third Thursday until the project is completed.
John Odom brought his chainsaw, and the others used loppers and pruners to clear the path and remove limbs that had fallen onto a nearby fence.
