Many residents in the Killeen-Fort Hood area woke up to freezing temperatures and ice-covered windshields Friday morning. While the area wasn’t hit hard by the ice storm that blanketed Dallas and other parts of the country, the widespread cold snap had an impact on air traffic and roads in Central Texas.
Weather conditions Thursday night and into Friday caused several cancellations and delays at the Killeen-Fort Hood Regional Airport, according to city spokeswoman Hilary Shine.
