Several entities in the area, including Fort Hood, opened later than usual today anticipating freezing weather that mainly stayed soggy.

“It got down to zero degrees Celsius for about an hour, but it didn’t get below freezing,” said Jamie Gudmestad, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.

That low temperature was reported at about 5 a.m. at the Killeen Fort Hood Regional Airport. The area also got about a 1/2 inch of rain.

The rainy weather is expected to continue today and Tuesday with a 30 percent of rain and snow. Temperatures are expected to get close to freezing or below on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to National Weather Service’s seven day forecast.
