Rain and possible thunderstorms were slated to roll through the Central Texas and Bell County areas late Wednesday, although Killeen was largely spared from wet weather, according to the National Weather Service station in Dallas/Fort Worth.

“The whole area is in the threat area for severe thunderstorms (Wednesday) afternoon,” meteorologist Jason Godwin said. “The east of Bell County will probably get the worst of it, but the Killeen area will probably see some storms, too.”

The rest of the week and weekend will see sunny skies and temperatures in the mid- to low 80s.
