The National Weather Service implemented a flood watch Wednesday for Bell County and other neighboring counties, but Killeen Police Department and Bell County Sheriff’s Department officials said no flooding was reported.
According to the National Weather Service, with the accumulation of rain over the weekend and throughout the early part of the week, some low-lying areas were expected to experience minor flooding as rain continued to fall across Central Texas Wednesday morning.
Mike Perez, with the sheriff’s department, said no flooding was reported, but some areas that typically flood experienced higher water.
According to the National Weather Service forecast, rain is expected again Friday with a 40 percent chance throughout the day and a 20 percent chance before 1 p.m. Saturday. Showers and thunderstorms are possible Monday as well, with a 20 percent chance of rain throughout the day.
