A 30 percent chance of rain this afternoon will keep temperatures below the century mark to start the week.

The National Weather Service forecasted today’s high at 96 degrees with an overnight low of 75 under mostly cloudy skies.

The chance of rain continues into Monday morning, with a high of 97 and a low of 74.

“There’s an isolated chance of storms through Tuesday morning,” according to the NWS, but the clouds will soon give way to typical Texas summer heat.

Highs throughout the rest of the week will be in the upper 90s under mostly sunny skies with a heat index in the low 100s. Overnight lows will be in the mid-70s.
