A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for the Killeen-Fort Hood area with hail and high winds likely, according to a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Fort Worth.

Jamie Gudmeftad said marble size hail has been reported in Temple, and the National Weather Service has sent out severe weather warnings in anticipation of winds in excess of 60 mph.

The storm is expected to dump a half inch to one inch of rain on the area.

Gudmeftad said the storm could potentially skirt around Killeen but there is potential that another storm could develop off of the current one.
