Killeen residents can expect warmer weather, as well as rain and a few thunderstorms this week.

According to forecasts from the National Weather Service, highs will remain in the low- to mid-80s, with chances of rain and thunderstorms ranging from 20 percent to 40 percent.

The forecast for Memorial Day includes a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 8 a.m., with a high near 82 degrees. At night, the 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms continues. The sky will be mostly cloudy, with a low about 68, and south/southeast wind about 10 mph.

Chances of rain will increase as the week continues.

“Tuesday is likely to be the wettest day,” said Dan Shoemaker, a meteorologist for the NWS’ Dallas/Fort Worth regional office.
