Woman, 23, arraigned on felony burglary charge

A 23-year-old woman was arraigned on a felony charge Friday in connection with a burglary that occurred Wednesday.

Kayleigh Nichole Davis was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke on a second-degree felony charge of burglary of a habitation.

Killeen police were dispatched on Wednesday to a residence that was

burglarized in the 1300 block of Missouri Drive in Killeen, according to an arrest affidavit.

The victim told police her home had been broken into and several items were missing.

The victim and another person stated they saw a woman driving a brown Buick sedan going through abandoned property near the residence prior to the burglary, the affidavit stated.

Police found Davis driving a brown Buick and detained her. Inside the car they found multiple items including a CD player, a purse and clothing items.

Officers also observed several tools in the car, including a hammer, screwdrivers, a flashlight and a ski mask, the affidavit stated.

Davis is currently in Bell County Jail. Cooke set her bail at $50,000.

• A burglary of a vehicle was reported at 5:40 a.m. in the 1100 block of Powder River Drive in Killeen on Thursday. A purse, wallet and other items were taken.

• Criminal mischief was reported at 1:56 p.m. in the 700 block of Crockett Dive in Killeen on Thursday. An unknown person slashed the tires of a vehicle.

• A burglary of a habitation with forced entry was reported at 4:41 p.m. in the 800 block of Sissom Road in Killeen on Thursday.

• A burglary of a habitation with forced entry was reported at 5:20 p.m. in the 700 block of Colonial Lane in Killeen on Thursday. The burglary was reported by a neighbor.

• A burglary of a habitation with forced entry was reported at 6:29 p.m. in the 5700 block of Redstone Drive in Killeen on Thursday.

• Criminal mischief was reported at 8:03 p.m. in the 3000 block of East Central Texas Expressway in Killeen on Thursday.

• Criminal mischief was reported at 10:23 p.m. in the 700 block of West Dean Avenue in Killeen on Thursday.

• A burglary of a habitation with forced entry was reported at 3:55 a.m. in the 1100 block of Willow Springs in Killeen on Friday.

Copperas Cove

• A burglary of a vehicle was reported at 8:30 a.m. Thursday in the 300 block of Judy Lane. Four speakers valued at $2,000 were stolen.

• A theft and criminal mischief was reported at 9:37 a.m. Thursday in the 1000 block of Courtney Lane. Construction equipment valued at $1,500 was stolen.

• A theft of a cell phone was reported at 11:22 a.m. Thursday in the 400 block of South 25th Street.

• A theft of currency, $56,760, was reported at 11:32 a.m.

• A burglary of a residence, $8,000 stolen, was reported at 12:52 p.m. Thursday in the 600 block of South 13th Street.

• A burglary of a building was reported at 12:54 p.m. Thursday in the 600 block of Robertson Road.

Harker Heights

• A burglary of a residence was reported at 7:23 p.m. Thursday in the 100 block of Wind Ridge Drive.

• A theft of service was reported at 12:30 a.m. Friday in the 300 block of South Amy Lane.
