Hazel Nopupi, 65, of Little River-Academy, was pronounced dead at 12:55 p.m. by Justice of the Peace G.W. Ivey, DPS Trooper Harpin Myers said.

The driver lost control of the car with slick tires on rain-slicked roads, Myers said.

The vehicle rolled several times into a field and two of the four people in the car were ejected.

Their conditions were unknown at press time.

Nopupi was wearing a seat belt but was caught between the vehicle and the ground, Myers said.

Hicks said this was the third serious accident on Old Highway 95 since Jan. 1.
