BELTON - A Killeen woman is accused of leaving three young children alone in the early morning, prompting them to leave home and attempt to walk to the park.

A Bell County grand jury indicted Pamela Christine Jackson, 26, Wednesday on a charge of abandonment of a child, a third-degree felony punishable with up to 10 years in prison.

On April 28 about 8 a.m., police were dispatched to the 400 block of North 20th Street in reference to children walking in the street. The caller said that he found three children, the youngest 1-year-old, walking around in their pajamas, and that he'd unsuccessfully tried to locate their parents.
