GATESVILLE - A Copperas Cove woman suspected of smashing a beer bottle into a man's head was indicted by a Coryell County grand jury Tuesday.

Cladja Dynnette Willis, 31, was indicted on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

According to an arrest complaint, police responded to a fight in progress in the 300 block of Carpenter Street about 12:45 a.m. May 5.

Once on the scene, police met with one male victim and another female witness, both of whom reported that Willis attacked the male.

They told officers that female witnesses and Willis were arguing when the victim attempted to intervene and calm Willis down.

Willis then allegedly moved toward the victim and struck him on the left side of his head with a beer bottle, causing him to bleed, stated the complaint.
