Michelle Davis loves learning from other women with diverse backgrounds and occupations. This year, she’s looking forward to the American Business Women’s Association’s 18th annual Central Texas Women’s Leadership Conference on Saturday.

“Every time I go to one, I come back feeling motivated and ready to take on the world,” said Davis, communications officer for the local council. “It will be a great opportunity for women in our area to learn more about the American Business Women’s Association and how it can benefit them professionally and personally.”

The event, themed “Together we can. Together we will,” features more than 20 vendors, and three of the association’s national board of directors will be among the speakers.

TaNeika Driver-Moultrie, chair of the local council, said the organization gives women a chance to empower and uplift one another.

“That’s our goal, to help each other grow personally and professionally,” she said.

Davis said the conference gives women a chance to discover themselves and helps attendees understand how the association can play an important role in their lives.

“The conference isn’t geared toward one particular career field,” Davis said. “It’s geared toward leadership and teamwork.”
