Funeral services for Adam Christopher Cortinas will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home with Brother Bill Eye officiating.
Interment will follow at Florence City Cemetery in Florence. Serving as pallbearers will be Lucas Watts, Garrett Weiss, Dustin Weiss, Mikell Crow, Steven Crow and Clayton Hartzog. Honorary pallbearers will be Devin Yartz, Billy Hope and Austin Hattaway.
Mr. Cortinas died Jan. 11, 2014, in Florence. He was born Oct. 19, 1994. He was a junior firefighter for the Florence Fire Department for 3½ years.
Adam was very outgoing, very loving and very funny. He had a strong heart for the people he loved and would do anything to help someone out. Adam loved to joke around and was so full of life. He will forever live in the hearts of his family.
Mr. Cortinas was preceded in death by his grandmother, Guadalupe Cortinas; grandfather, Gene Shannon; uncles, Albert Cortinas and Christopher Shannon; and aunts, Linda Cortinas and Laurale Anne Shannon.
Survivors include his father, Adam Cortinas; mother, Theresa Cortinas; two sisters, Ashley Crow and her husband, Mikell, and Amber Johannsen and her husband, Brandon; nieces, Ciara and Zara Crow; nephews, Jate Crow and Zaidyn Cortinas; grandfather, Estevan Cortinas; grandmother, Joan Shannon; and many other family members.
