Memorial services for Aiko Baylor will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen.

Mrs. Baylor died Dec. 8, 2013, in her sleep after a brief but valiant bout with cancer; she was 95 years young. She was born Jan. 1, 1918, in Yokosuga, Japan, to Yaichi and Fumiko Somekawa.

Aiko was a loving wife, mom and grandmother.

She attended Kagoshima Ken-Ritzu Daichi Koto Jogako High School, where she started a swim team. Later she pursued a degree in English and taught English and Japanese. She worked as a supervisor for the Keypunch Section of the New Jersey Department of Taxation until retirement in 1988.

Aiko enjoyed tai chi, swimming, bridge, word search puzzles and spending time with friends at the Baca Senior Center.

Mrs. Baylor was preceded in death by her loving husband, Aubrey J. Baylor; and sister, Tomiko.

Survivors include her daughter, Dr. Ann Baylor; son-in-law, Hugh B. Lawrence Jr.; granddaughter, Caitlin Victor; grandson, Joshua Victor; and countless friends.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
