Funeral services for Capt. Alicia Gale Duvall, 45, will be at 3 p.m. today at the Spirit of Fort Hood Chapel at Fort Hood. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Aug. 19 at Live Oak Cemetery in Charleston, S.C. Receptions will follow both the funeral and burial.
Mrs. Duvall died Aug. 8, 2017, peacefully in her Harker Heights home. She was born Feb. 2, 1972, to Walter and Beverly Grudzinski.
A veteran who served as an Army aviator, she served selflessly until leaving service to be a dedicated mother.
In 1993, she received her commission from George Mason University. She then attended flight school at Fort Rucker, Ala. Capt. Duvall was then assigned to 1-227 Aviation at Fort Hood.
In 1993, Alicia married William E. Duvall IV. In 1997, Alicia left service to dedicate herself to being a mother and supporting her husband’s military service.
Throughout the years Alicia served in many positions supporting children and the military; substitute teacher, youth sport director and YMCA youth director. Alicia was awarded Volunteer of the Year in Hohenfels, Germany, in 2004. In 2013, she opened Alicia’s Photography providing high quality event and youth sport photography.
Survivors include her husband, William; three sons, William, Adam and Christopher; her parents, Walter and Beverly Grudzinski; her sister, Sharon Stacks; and her brothers, Walter and Brian Grudzinski.
Visitation was from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen.
