Funeral services for Staff Sgt. Anthony Ray Lovell, 40, of Killeen, will be at noon Tuesday, at Chisholm’s Family Funeral Home in Killeen. Internment with full military honors will follow at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.
Mr. Lovell died on July 3, 2017. He was born on August 18, 1976, in Denver, Colo,, to Raymond Ronald Lovell and Linda Rae Lovell.
He graduated from Tolleson Union High School in Tolleson, Ariz. He was an active-duty soldier in the United States Army and stationed at Fort Hood. He served over 19 years in the military, serving two tours in the Iraq War. He was presently on terminal leave to retire from the United States Army, receiving an honorable discharge.
While serving his country, he received the following awards: Army Accommodation Medal with four oakleaf clusters, Army Achievement Medal with four oakleaf clusters, Army Good Conduct Medal 6th award, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal 2nd award, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon numeral 2, Army Service Ribbon, Army Overseas Service Ribbon, Combat Action Badge, Drivers Mechanic Badge, and the Basic Marksmanship Qualification Badge.
Mr. Lovell was a resident of Killeen. He was a member of the Corrupt Motorcycle Club in Killeen. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and enjoyed helping others. He loved life and he loved family.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Gloria Lovell of Dahlonega, Ga., children, Allena Rose Lovell of Georgia, Anthony Lovell of Killeen and Tatiana Marie Lovell of Georgia; his parents, Raymond Ronald Lovell of Phoenix, and Linda Rae Lovell of Georgetown; sister Jennifer Lynn Crosby of Killeen; girlfriend Maria FE Sparacello and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Chisolm’s Family Funeral Home.
