Funeral services for Arthur “Wayne” Lutz will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen.

Mr. Lutz died April 25, 2014, in his home. He was born Aug. 20, 1946, in Hondo. He joined the U.S. Army in 1964 and retired after 20 years of service in September 1984. Upon retirement from the Army, he worked for Austin Power and Light and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, where he was chief of maintenance and construction. He also was an inspector for Morale, Welfare and Recreation until his retirement in 2009.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, livestock and living in the country with peace and quiet.

Mr. Lutz was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Lilian Lutz; and his wife and soul mate, Sherry Lutz.

Survivors include four daughters, Sandy Scaglione, Melissa Burkhiser of Florida, Rhonda Burell and Nichole Hurt, both of D’hanis; four sons-in-law; 10 grandchildren; seven siblings; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s children’s cancer research.
