Services for Charles Bennett Baggett Jr., 89, of Copperas Cove, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home Chapel in Copperas Cove.

Mr. Baggett died Nov. 25, 2016, in Copperas Cove. He was born June 24, 1927, in Stamford to Charles Bennett Baggett and Selma Haygood Baggett.

He was the owner of Baggett Drug Store from 1961 to 2005.

Mr. Baggett was on the Copperas Cove City Council for 10 years and was mayor pro tem for six years. He also served on the Central Texas College board for 16 years and was chairman of the board for 10 years.

He was a lover of the arts, especially ballet and opera. He also enjoyed traveling in his spare time, especially cruises.

Mr. Baggett was preceded in death by his wife, Frankie Baggett.

Survivors include one brother, Billy J. Baggett; one nephew, Ricky Baggett; and one niece, Melodi Baggett Hobbs.

The family requests memorials be made to the Charles and Frankie Baggett endowment at the Central Texas College Foundation.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove, which is in charge of arrangements.
