Colette “Coley” Washington, 51, of Killeen, died unexpectedly Nov. 2, 2017, in Killeen.

Ms. Washington was born June 2, 1966, in Albuquerque, N.M., to Doris J. Washington.

She graduated from the University of Phoenix with a degree in criminal justice. After moving to Killeen, she began working for, and retired from, the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

Ms. Washington was preceded in death by her mother, Doris J. Washington and father, Clellan Moore.

As a woman of her faith and her word, she strove to care for everyone before herself. She loved to have her “Granny and Carter Saturdays.” She will greatly be missed and loved by all.

She is survived by her sons, Marcus A. Hayes Jr. of Copperas Cove and Cameron D. Washington of Killeen; her daughter, Devon N. Washington of Killeen; her grandson, Carter J. Robinson of Killeen; and her father James A. Washington Sr. of Waco.

Ms. Washington is also survived by her wonderful brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and extended family.

No services are planned at this time. Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Killeen is in charge of arrangements.
