David Earl Shepard



          David Earl Shepard, age 65, of West Union, Ohio passed away Tuesday July 24, 2018 at his Son’s Residence in Broken Arrow, OK.

          He was born in Adam’s County on November 29, 1952. He was the son of the late Samuel Alton Shepard and Mary Louis Sibert.

          David is survived by his mother Mary Louis (Sibert) McNeilan of West Union, Ohio; his son Nathan Shepard and his wife Josephine Shepard of Killeen, Texas; five sisters, Rose Ann and Mike Miller of Florida, Sheila and Bobby Stratton of Winchester, Shirley and James Osborn of Lucasville, Ohio, Susan Eldridge of Seaman, Ohio and Donna and David Smith of West Union, Ohio; six brothers, Sam and Jean Shepard of Hillsboro, Ohio, Mike McNeilan of Unity, Ohio, Leonard and Kelly Shepard of Columbus, Ohio, Mike Shepard of Texas, and Harold and Peggy Sibert of West Union, Ohio; one granddaughter, Natalie Shepard, and four grandsons, Christian Aponte, Johnathan Shepard, Lee Shepard, Nathan “Junior” Shepard; and two great grandchildren.

          He is preceded in death by one sister, Brenda McKinnely; three brothers, Jerry Lee McNeilan, Earl Shepard, Albert Shepard; and his Stepfather Harold E. McNeilan.

          David graduated from WestUnionHigh School in Ohio. He served in the United States Army and retired in 1991 as a Staff Sergeant in Killeen, Texas. He deployed to the Vietnam War and Gulf War. David served overseas tours in Germany and Korea. His awards include Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and Oversea Service Ribbon.

          He was very well known in his community in Killeen, Texas by many local business owners and friends. He loved watching movie, sports and talking to his son and grandkids. David was the type of person that would do anything to help others.  He was a loving caring person and was a loving son, father and grandfather.

          The Memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 6, 2018 at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery 11463 State Hwy 195 Killeen, Texas 76542. All are welcome to attend and celebrate David Shepard’s life.
