Services for Edna Darlene Gallaway Haun, 66, will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen with Brother Weldon Hicks officiating. She wished to be cremated and there will be no viewing service and her ashes will later be placed with her husband at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.

Mrs. Haun died Feb. 19, 2014. She was born July 9, 1947, in Gatesville to Thomas Allen Gallaway and Millicie Lavada Gallaway. She was the oldest daughter of four children.

John Luther Haun stole her heart with his smooth dance skills and they were married Sept. 1, 1971, in Harker Heights and made their home in Killeen. While raising three kids, she worked at Centel, Wilco Graphics, Sprint, Embarq, the Killeen Daily Herald and Furniture Zone. But her passion came later in life as she became a grandmother and was known as Dee Dee.

Dee Dee was fortunate enough to spend her retirement years raising grandchildren and great-nieces and nephews. Oh, how she loved watching them.

The family wishes to thank all of those who blessed her life with their friendship, love and prayers. Her sons would like to especially thank the staff of Scott & White Continuing Care Hospital for providing her with excellent care and companionship.

Memorials may be made to any Alzheimer’s association in memory of her mother, Lavada Gallaway, or in her memory to any charity of your choice.

Mrs. Haun was preceded in death by her husband, John Luther Haun in 2009; her mother, Millicie Lavada Gallaway; father, Thomas Allen Gallaway; and one sister, Joy Lynn Gallaway.

Survivors include a brother, Terry Allen Gallaway and his wife, Linda, of Morgan’s Point; sister, Judy Gail Whitson and her husband, Bob, of Belton; three children; Johnny Haun and his wife, Laura, of Belton, John T. Haun and his wife, Maria, of Killeen and Justin Ross Haun of Killeen; seven grandchildren, who were her reason for living; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
