Funeral services for Eugene Bryan Kirby, 86, of Harker Heights, will be at 11 a.m. today at First United Methodist Church of Killeen. Burial will follow at the Killeen City Cemetery.

Mr. Kirby died Feb. 12, 2014, at Scott & White Hospital in Temple. He was born March 26, 1926, in Ozark, Ark., to Julian and Leona (O’Bar) Kirby.

He graduated from the University of Arkansas with a degree in accounting. On Sept. 12, 1959, he married Helen Davis, and they moved to Killeen in the mid-1960s. Mr. Kirby was a longtime leader in the Killeen business community as the sole practitioner of Eugene B. Kirby, CPA and later as partner in Kirby & Kerr. He was a retired member of both the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a past member of the Exchange Club of Killeen.

He and his family were active members of Killeen First United Methodist Church.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Helen Davis Kirby; sons Paul Bryan Kirby and Glenn Davis Kirby and his wife, Deborah Overby Kirby; and two grandchildren, Adam Davis Kirby and Brian Clark Kirby.
