Graveside services for Kye Hyon Ferguson will be at 9 a.m. Jan. 7 at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery with Randy Harris of New Salem Baptist Church in Dixon, Mo., officiating.

Mrs. Ferguson died Dec. 20, 2013. She was born Feb. 20, 1935, in Korea.

Kye was well known for the handmade spring rolls she made for every occasion. She was employed by the U.S. government in Korea for 24 years.

Speaking four languages, she was a valuable employee and was often loaned to other branches as an interpreter or translator.

She enjoyed traveling with Lee in their RV. A lifelong dream of Kye’s was to see Niagara Falls in New York; she made that trip in September 2012.

She loved reading and always had books nearby to read when she got the urge.

She was a retired cosmetologist, as well as owning/operating two businesses in Killeen and Harker Heights.

Survivors include her loving husband, Lee; sons, Lee Jr. and his wife, Krissa, and Bert and his wife, Debbie; a brother, Ik Hyon Shin; a sister, Kyong Hyon Shin-Pak; and numerous relatives in the U.S. and South Korea.

Heritage Funeral Home in Harker Heights is in charge of arrangements.
