Services for Nancy Nell Norman will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.
Nancy Nell Norman, Christian wife, mother, grandmother, family historian, story teller and quilt maker par excellence, died Sept. 7, 2013, at home. She made quilts for almost all of her children and grandchildren, as well as many friends and neighbors. One Christmas, she made family histories for each of her eight children that was a labor of character and love. She was forever dragging her husband of 25 years or a friend to Sami shows, yard sales or thrift stores looking for that one unusual thing.
In her younger years, she coached or managed Bobby Socks softball teams and became a league official scorekeeper. She was an avid reader of W.E.B. Griffin, Clive Cussler, Mrs. Polifax series or other similar stories. Recently she became a fan of the “Duck Dynasty” TV program because of its family values.
She will be missed by family and friends alike.
Survivors include her husband of 25 years, Rudeford (Rudy) Norman of Killeen; brother, James Morse of San Diego; eight children, Beth Stapleton of Pace, Fla., Mellissa Anderson of San Diego, Mathew Inganna of San Diego, Nick Inganna of Orlando, Fla., Angie Rivera of Killeen, Nicole Assenato of Louisville, Ky., Rudeford (Rudy) Norman Jr. of Houston and Michelle Norman of Killeen; grandchildren, Lee Lavin, Luke Lavin, Lauren Lavin, Carrie Weckler, Jake Baumgartner, Amy Baumgartner, Laurie Baumgartner, Kaitlin Inganna, Nickolas Inganna, Scott Clarke, Cody Tripp, Louie Norman, Catherine Norman, Jacob Rivera and Issie Rivera; and seven great-grandchildren, Joseph Lavin, Joshua Lavin, Noah Anderson, Nicky Anderson, Mattie Anderson, Autumn Weckler and April Weckler.
Visitation is from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. today at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen, which is in charge of arrangements. Offer condolences at www.crawfordbowersfuneralhome.com.
