Memorial services for Elsie “Peg or Peggy” Frances Fuller Dodson, 81, of Copperas Cove, formerly of Fieldale, Va., will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Bible Way Missionary Baptist Church in Copperas Cove. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Fieldale, Va.

Mrs. Dodson died Jan. 12, 2014. She was born June 23, 1932, in Callands, Va., to the late Willie Fuller and Fannie Taylor Fuller.

Elsie graduated from Albert Harris High School in Martinsville, Va., and attended college at LeMoyne-Owen College in Memphis, Tenn. From there, she went on to attend art school in Memphis. She loved to draw, paint and knit.

She was a very loving and devoted wife and mother who truly loved the Lord. She was a diligent worker at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Fieldale, Va., where she held the position of secretary of the missionary group. After moving to Killeen, she joined Bibleway Missionary Baptist Church and served as a spacer for the Mission Group.

Mrs. Dodson was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Dodson; son, Norman Dodson Jr.; daughter, Angela Dodson; grandson, Tonche Hodge; three brothers, Onyx (Buddy), Delbert and Rylan Fuller; four sisters, Elizabeth Harris, Sadie Warrington, Annie Mae Moore and Emily Fuller.

Survivors include one son, Frederick Dodson of Roanoke, Va.; one daughter, Susan Lewis (Oscar) of Copperas Cove; four sisters, Edna Lee and Christine Fuller of New Rochelle, N.Y., and Edith Belcher and Willie Yellock of Martinsville, Va.; three grandchildren, Oscar Lewis Jr., Jessica Lewis and Angela Lewis of Copperas Cove; three great-grandchildren, Marshay, Zoey and Sharice Hodge of Axton, Va.; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
