A celebration of life for retired Army Master Sgt. Gail N. Finks will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday at Heritage Funeral Home in Harker Heights.

Mr. Finks died Dec. 18, 2013, in Killeen. He was known by family and friends as Jim.

His Army career spanned 27 years, including two tours in Vietnam. While serving in Vietnam, he received the Bronze Star with two oak leaf clusters, National Defense Service Medal with one oak leaf cluster, Army of Occupation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with one silver service star and bronze service star and Army Commendation Medal with three oak leaf clusters.

After his retirement, he continued his service to this country in the civil service from which he also retired. He served honorably in the 101st Airborne, 2nd Armored Division, 3rd Armor Division and 1st Cavalry. He was an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He dedicated his life to his family and country.

He was married to Toni Finks (deceased 2011).

Survivors include his two daughters, Aera Oh and Eda Finks; son, Harry Finks; grandsons, Allen, Bradley and Connor Oh; and sister, Anita Kittridge.

Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Heritage Funeral Home in Harker Heights, which is in charge of arrangements.
