A funeral Mass for Gauta Tui Sakaria, 67, of Killeen, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Matthew officiating.

Mr. Sakaria died July 4, 2013, at a local hospital. He was born Dec. 18, 1945, in Lalomalava, Savaii, to Laulu and Vavao Sakaria. He worked as a construction worker in Honolulu, Hawaii, for more than 20 years. He was a dedicated church leader at Our Lady of the Mount & St. John the Baptist in Honolulu. He also was a committed son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Mafatua; and daughter, Bernadette.

Survivors include his wife, Enina Sakaria of Killeen; three sons, Filipo (Vaefa) of Redlands, Calif., Etemani (Eseta) of Nolanville, Gauta Jr. (Kim) of Honolulu; three daughters, Letumu (Ala) of Honolulu, Senia (Richard) of Killeen and Sharalyn (Liroy) of Killeen; four brothers and five sisters.

A rosary and celebration of life service will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at Scott’s Funeral Home in Copperas Cove, which is in charge of arrangements.
