Memorial services to celebrate the life of Herbert Lee Carpenter Jr., 57, will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Heritage Funeral Home in Harker Heights.

Mr. Carpenter died Nov. 24, 2013, in Harker Heights. He was born in Virginia. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, serving as a guide on Fort Hood for over 15 years. He also worked at Wilson Art for 20 years.

Mr. Carpenter was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Carpenter Sr. and Chie Aoki Carpenter; and a sister, Rosemary Baugh.

Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Paula Carpenter; children, Amy Bates, Michael Carpenter, Dustin Carpenter, Kala Carpenter and Royce Carpenter; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; siblings, Michan Sims, Helen Levy, Michael Carpenter, John Carpenter and Gene Carpenter; numerous nieces and nephews; and other relatives.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Texas Parks and Wildlife, 4200 Smith School Road, Austin, TX 78744.
