Services for Jack B. Ray, 83, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lifeway Fellowship Church with the Rev. Jimmy Towers officiating. Burial will follow at Killeen City Cemetery.

Mr. Ray died Oct. 12, 2013, at his home in Killeen. Born on Feb. 23, 1930, Mr. Ray was a lifelong resident of Killeen. He was a civil engineer at Fort Hood for many years, and also operated and ran his own ranch. He was a member of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Ray is survived by a son, Jim B. Ray of Waxahachie; daughter, Missy Berry of Round Rock; brothers, retired Col. Webster “Chine” D. Ray of Temple and D.L. “Dee Dee” Ray of Troy; sister Billie Jane Sprott of Weatherford; and grandchildren, Bailee Berry, Zane Ray, Makenna Berry, Brooks Berry and Jhett Ray.

Mr. Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Nettie Faye Ray; two brothers, D.H. “Mitts” Ray, Jimmy “Jim” K. Ray, and sister, Lajaun Ray.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home of Killeen, which is in charge of arrangements.
