Services for James Hubert “Mac” McCallum, 79, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale. Burial will follow in the Milano Cemetery in Milano.

Mr. McCallum died Oct. 26, 2013, at Scott & White Hospital in Temple.

He was born Oct. 3, 1934, in Milano. He was the only child of Ross Eugene and Robbie Lee (Diver) McCallum. 

He was raised in Milano, graduated from Milano High School and attended two years of college.

He was a draftsman in the steel fabricating business until his retirement.

Mr. McCallum married Mary E. Morgan on March 7, 1953, and they had three children, Ross, Mary L. and Patricia L.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary McCallum, on Oct. 25, 1998. He later married his current wife, Joy Garrett McCallum, on March 12, 2005, in Killeen, where they were currently residing. 

Mr. McCallum was a member of the Clear Creek Baptist Church and of the musical group MECA.

He also sang in the Golden Age Senior Choir in Temple.

Survivors include his wife, Joy McCallum of Killeen; son, Ross McCallum of Arlington; daughters, Mary L. Graham of Killeen, and Pat L. Farmer and her husband, Craig, of McKinney; stepsons, Jim Evans and his wife, Sheri, of Somerville, Bill Evans and his wife, Joan, of Lake Whitney, and Douglas Evans and his wife, Becky, of Mission; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be two hours prior to service time on Wednesday. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Texas Baptist Children’s Home, 1300 N. Mays, Round Rock, TX 78664 or to Valley Baptist Retreat, 1600 East Business 83, Mission, TX 78572.

Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale is in charge of arrangements.
