Memorial services for James Seuser will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Grace United Methodist Church in Copperas Cove.

Mr. Seuser died Oct. 30, 2013, at his home in Copperas Cove. He was born June 8, 1928, in Great Bend, Kan., to Ben Seuser and Allie Seuser. He grew up in the Bison, Kan., community. He graduated from Bison High School in 1946, and from Fort Hays State College in Hays, Kan., in 1952. He briefly attended school in Louisville, Ky.

On Dec. 25, 1952, he married Wilma Lorraine Apple in Ordway, Colo. They became parents of seven children. In 1953, James graduated from Iliff Seminary in Denver, Colo. He began work as director of Christian education in June of that year at First Methodist Church in Dodge City, Kan.

In 1963, the family moved to Copperas Cove. Mr. Seuser became director of Protestant religious education at Fort Hood, a civil service position. He retired after 25 years. He did some substitute teaching for a few years after retirement and spent summers working on the farm at Bison, Kan.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Wilma; seven children; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
