Jimmy Dale King died Jan. 13, 2013, surrounded by his loving wife of 45 years and his four children. He was born March 29, 1941, to Roy and Louise King.

He attended Texas Tech University and went on to graduate with a dental degree from the University of Texas Dental School. He met and married the love of his life, Sonja, and was blessed with four beautiful children.

Mr. King served his country faithfully for more than 20 years in the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Navy Reserve and the U.S. Army. He retired from the U.S. Army as a lieutenant colonel in 1995 and continued his career as a dentist for the University of Texas medical branch.

In his recent years he enjoyed traveling, vacationing in beautiful state parks and celebrating life’s joys with his grandchildren. He lived a full life surrounded by family, love, laughter and eternal hope. He will always be remembered for his dry, quick wit regardless of circumstances and for his lavish generosity. His life and memory will be cherished by his family.

Survivors include his wife, Sonja King; daughter, Denise King Strickland; sons, Stephen King and Daniel King; daughter, Annette King Hiller and their spouses and children; and 11 grandchildren.

Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen is in charge of arrangements.
