Memorial services for Lewis F. Haney, 93, will be held in Cascade, Idaho, in the summer of 2014.

Mr. Haney died Aug. 14, 2013, at his home in Nolanville. He was born Jan. 13, 1920, in Lewiston, Utah, to Pierce Melvin and Lucy Cummins (Payne) Haney.

He married Roberta James on Jan. 21, 1941, and after 72 years of being best friends, she preceded him in death on May 9, 2013.

He worked with the Civilian Conservation Corps prior to World War II and for the Southern Pacific Railroad, Great Northern Railroad and Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad until he retired in 1970.

Mr. Haney was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta; brothers, Oscar, Edgebert, Alvin, Jess, Ivern, Pierce, Clod, William, and Avern; sisters, Lily May, Dora Ethel, Dorothy, and Helen; and a grandson, Charles LeMasters.

Survivors include a sister, Evelou Smith of Ontario, Ore.; three children, Joan Hinshaw and her wife, Irene Andrews, Maureen LeMasters and her companion, Steve Campbell and Lewis Michael Haney and his wife, Rita; seven grandchildren, Danya Reider and her husband, John, Barry Hinshaw and his wife, Valerie, Michael Hinshaw and his wife, Charito, Robert LeMasters and his wife, Charla, Gregory LeMasters and his companion, Heather, Michael Haney, and Kim Penfold and her husband, Gary; 14 grandchildren, Tawni Lay and her husband, Chris, Crystal Woolard and her husband, Steve, Lauren Hallmark and her husband, Dustin Hallmark, Jacob Hinshaw, Madison Hinshaw, Crystal Enderie, Jacob LeMasters, Jaylynn LeMasters, Jeremy LeMasters, Kyle Joseph Haney, Kevin Rashad Haney, Matthew Ray Sanchez, Lucy Penfold and Owen Penfold; and three great-great-grandchildren, Sarana Kaya Krieger, Ashton Woolard and Carter Grace Woolard.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation in memory of Mr. Haney to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer’s Association.

Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen is in charge of arrangements.
