Funeral services for Marcia Gail Benjamin, 70, will be at 1 p.m. today at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown with Michael Howell officiating.

Mrs. Benjamin died April 3, 2014. She was born Dec. 6, 1943, in Fall River, Mass., and moved to Copperas Cove in 1973.

She spent the last two years residing in Leander so she could be closer to her son and daughter-in-law.

Mrs. Benjamin retired from the nonappropriated funds division at Fort Hood where she worked in the personnel department for over 30 years. During and after employment, she was an active member of the American Business Women’s Association.

She enjoyed the life of retirement by traveling the world. She was a member of a wine club, but most of her friends and family knew her to be an avid reader, which was one of her passions in life.

Family, however, was her greatest passion. Her parents are David (deceased) and Dorothy Smith, 91, of Chase Point, Little Compton, R.I.; three children, Jerilyn of Pinehurst, Jodi of Fort Worth and Jay of Leander survive her; as well one sister, Pamela of Little Compton, R.I.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, which is in charge of arrangements. Offer condolences at
