Mrs. Polite died July 5, 2013, at Seton Medical Center Harker Heights. She was born Aug. 25,1959, in Washington, D.C., to Richard and Claudine Budd Sr.

She moved to Taylor in 1968, and graduated from Taylor High School in 1977. She attended Austin Business College, where she earned her C.N.A. in 1980. She entered her lifelong marriage to Harry Polite Jr. in 1984. She was also a front desk receptionist for the Armed Services YMCA of Killeen from 1990 to 2006.

She is described as loving, caring, understanding, giving and wise by her loved ones. Her interests included gardening, home decor, reading, bingo, cooking, music, family gatherings and helping others.

Mrs. Polite was preceded in death by her parents; great-grandmother, Odessa Bibbs; sisters, Sandra Budd and Vicki Banks; and a brother, Desmond Budd.

Survivors include her husband, retired Master Sgt. Harry L. Polite Jr.; sons, Virreen Wilder and Harry L. Polite III; daughters, Tiffany Polite and Hasheki Polite; two granddaughters, Nasir Yasmeen Wilder and Secret Chave Paris France; three grandsons, Jaquez Ivan Polite, Jason Johnson Jr. and Zayvion Polite; and her beloved four-legged friend, Skip.
