Mrs. Kozusko died Nov. 5, 2013, in San Antonio. She was born March 17, 1919, in Lompoc, Calif., to John M. Dimock and Elsie Arkley Dimock. She grew up loving the outdoors and horses on a ranch in Santa Barbara County, Calif.

She graduated from Lompoc Union High School in 1937. She attended San Jose State College, first as a music major, then graduating in 1942, with an AB degree in education, with specialties in music and English.

Following graduation, she taught school in Bakersfield and Santa Maria, Calif. At this time she also took up photography. In 1949, she met and married Lt. George John Kozusko.

Her husband’s career in the Army allowed her to fulfill her interest in travel. They lived in Seattle, Virginia, Ohio and France. Following her husband’s last assignment at Fort Hood and retirement from the military in 1964, she settled with her family in Copperas Cove, where she lived until 2006.

Mrs. Kozusko was a founding member of the First Presbyterian Church in Copperas Cove, where she served as choir director for more than 30 years. She was active in the community, serving as co-chairman of the Texas Sesquicentennial Celebration and helping to found the Copperas Cove Folklife Festival.

In 2006, she relocated to San Antonio to be closer to her son and his family.

Mrs. Kozusko was preceded in death by her husband, George Kozusko in 1989; her parents; and a brother, Ted Dimock.

Survivors include her two daughters, Mary Lynn Tedder and her husband, Steve Tedder, of Tulsa, Okla., and Janet Kozusko of Rockport; her son, Russell and his wife, Elona Kozusko, and grandson, Christopher Kozusko, of San Antonio; and her brother, Jack Dimock of Santa Barbara, Calif.
