A celebration of life for Michael R. (Mike) Deorsam, 61, of Belton, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home Chapel in Killeen, with Pastor Drew Brassfield officiating. Private burial will follow.
Mr. Deorsam died March 5, 2018 in Temple. He was born Nov. 1, 1956, in Temple.
Mr. Deorsam was raised in the Killeen area and graduated from Killeen High School in 1975, where he enjoyed playing football. He was a building inspector for the City of Killeen for 20 years, retiring in 2008 and was currently a building inspector for the City of Temple at the time of his death.
Mr. Deorsam had many loves and interests in his life with the first being his love for his Lord and attending worship services at the Church of the Hills in Lometa. He especially enjoyed traveling to Boston with his wife, Grace, spending time with his children and grandchildren, showing his classic 1969 Roadrunner throughout Central Texas, watching sporting events and riding his Harley-Davidson before his decline in health.
Mike is survived by his wife of 40 years, Grace Kaye Deorsam of Belton; sons, Michael Dustin Deorsam and his wife, April, of Killeen, Beau Clinton Deorsam of Lampasas; daughter, Rachael Ashley Deorsam of Temple; eight grandchildren; mother, Dianne Chitwood of McGregor; step-mother, Juanell Deorsam of Georgetown; sister, Pam Hayes of Euless; step-sister, Ronda Leal of Georgetown; step-brother, Paul Reese of Marble Falls; and his loving four-legged companion, Harley. Mike was preceded in death by his father, Robert William Deorsam Jr.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, prior to the service at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen, which is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Church of the Hills, PO Box 119, Lometa, TX 76853.
