Funeral services for Mike Aycock, 40, of Belton, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at College Avenue Baptist Church, 201 S. Monroe St., McGregor, with the Rev. David Thompson and Chaplain Alvin Dillard officiating. Interment will follow at McGregor Cemetery.

Mr. Aycock died Jan. 3, 2013. He was born Dec. 6, 1972, in Corsicana to Jimmy and Sherrie (Franklin) Aycock. He was a 1991 graduate of Temple High School, and continued his education at Temple College and Central Texas Regional Police Academy in Bell County.

On May 16, 1998, he married the former Angela Spradley in McGregor and moved to Belton in 1999 from Temple. Much of his life was spent as a police officer in Mart, McGregor, Hewitt and the last 14 years in Killeen.

He was awarded many awards and certificates for his excellent service and had achieved a Masters Peace Officer Level.

Throughout his life he enjoyed fishing, hunting, coached Little League baseball and enjoyed watching all types of sports.

Survivors include his wife, Angela, of Belton; a son, Dalton Aycock of Belton; a daughter, Dakota Aycock of Belton; a sister, Cristi Cleveland and her husband, Chris, of Cockrell Hill; his parents, Jimmy and Sherrie Aycock of Gatesville; paternal grandmother, Bernice Aycock of Gatesville; maternal grandmother, Margie Franklin of Mart; and a nephew, Brian McGuire of Gatesville.

Memorials may be made to the Aycock children in care of Extraco Bank, P.O. Box 295, McGregor, TX 76657.
