No services are planned for Nellie Jo Foerster, 77, of Harker Heights.

Mrs. Foerster died Sept. 7, 2017, at her home in Harker Heights after a long battle with cancer.

She was born in Lake Village, Ark., on Sept. 26, 1939, to Pauline Clements and Haywood Thomas. She graduated valedictorian of Little Rock Central High School’s class of 1957 and attended Southwestern Adventist University.

Nell pursued her passion for sewing as a seamstress and dressmaker.

In 1960, she gave birth to her daughter, Lisa, in Amarillo. In 1964, she gave birth to her son, Wilson, in Little Rock.

Nell, or “Dodie” as she was known to her closest friends, was a vibrant and charming woman whose sharp wit and fierce intelligence charmed all who were lucky enough to have met her.

She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Lisa Hill; her stepdaughter, Kris Higgins; her sisters, Diane Bell and Donna Lee; her three grandchildren; her two great-grandchildren; and countless friends, admirers and ex-husbands. Memorial donations may be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
