Nora May Freeman died Oct. 5, 2013, in an area hospital. She passed peacefully with her only son, Samuel T. Freeman Jr. and his wife, Rachael, by her side.

She was born June 27, 1932, in Auburn, Neb. After graduating from high school, she entered the U.S. Air Force.

While stationed at the Pentagon, she met her future husband, Samuel T. Freeman Sr. He worked in supply and would not release her duffle bag, which contained all she owned at the time, until she agreed to go on a date with him.

They were married 46 years at the time of his death in 1998.

Mrs. Freeman was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel; her mother and father; two sisters; and one brother.

Survivors include her son, Samuel T. Freeman Jr. of Copperas Cove; and her sister, Margie, residing in California.

In honor of her request, there will be no funeral services. Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove is in charge of arrangements.
