Paula Renee’ Jordan Ward

Funeral services for Paula Renee’ Jordan Ward will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Destiny World Outreach Church with Pastor Chad Rowe officiating. Burial will follow at noon at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.

Mrs. Ward died June 5, 2014. A native of West Palm Beach, Fla., she was born Dec. 5, 1969.

She was granted her angel wings on Thursday, June 5, 2014, in Killeen. Her life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. Her smile that could brighten any room brought so much joy to our family.

Mrs. Ward is the younger of two children born to Robert Jordan and Altermease Kendrick. She graduated from Palm Beach Gardens High School in 1987.

Along with her loving husband, she lived all over the country and recently settled in Killeen. She completed her education at Central Texas College and had served as employment services supervisor at CTC since 2006.

On July 27, 1991, Paula married retired Sgt. 1st Class Dexter J. Ward; together, they have one son, Devin Kai. Paula had a passion for cooking and enjoyed nurturing her family.

Survivors include her loving husband, Dexter; her son, Devin; her mother and stepfather, Altermease and Vincent Kendrick Sr.; her father, Robert Jordan; her brothers, Robert L. Jordan Sr. (Melinda) and Vincent Kendrick Jr. (Monica); sister, Alexis C. Hunter; stepbrother, Carlton McClendon; stepsisters, Renee Mack and Ann Walker; mother in-law, Fannie L. Shields; brothers-in-law, Calvin Ward Jr. (Carrie), Frankie L. Shields, Billy W. Ward (Tawanna) and Steve O. Ward; sisters-in-law, Anna L. Schmitt, Nellie A. Robertson, Betty W. Bennett (Jeffrey), Rosemary Ward-Wilson and Ella W. Conley (Paul); and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lupus Foundation.

Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen.

Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home of Killeen is in charge of arrangements. Offer condolences at

Words cannot express the feeling of sorrow that I feel...Paula will be remembered not only by the light of her beautiful smile but by the way she took care of others. She will always be on my mind as well and the family that so love her. My deepest thoughts and sympathy to Dexter and Devin most of all. Much love and peace to you...
