Services for Ruby Bane Driver will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen. Burial will follow at the Wilson Valley Cemetery.

Mrs. Driver died Oct. 25, 2012. She was a beautiful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Mrs. Driver was an accomplished musician all of her life. She played professionally on the radio in the ’40s with Hank Thompson, The Rainbow Riders, Johnny Gimble and the Red River Wranglers, her family band with her sisters, Juanita, Mildred and Billie. She was a champion fiddler several years in a row in Bell County and surrounding areas. In later years, she played in several country swing bands, providing entertainment to local nursing homes and at community events.

In June 2012, she was honored with a private concert with Ray Benson of Asleep at the Wheel, her favorite musician and band, as his gift to a beloved fellow musician.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; her daughter, Janice Wilcox; her parents; and many other loved ones who have gone before.

Survivors include her daughters, Linda Erickson and her husband, Phil, and Debbie Hayhurst and her husband, Owen; sons, Mike Driver and Tom Barton; 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Curtis Driver, Cody Driver, Chris Wilcox, Bobby Erickson, Nick Michel and Mike Knott (honorary pallbearer).

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home Chapel in Killeen, which is in charge of arrangements. Offer condolences at
