A memorial visitation for Russell Wilson, 66, of Copperas Cove, will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Scott’s Funeral Home in Copperas Cove.
Mr. Wilson died Dec. 25, 2012, in a Lampasas care center. He was born April 11, 1946, to the late Russell Lyle and Edith Billings Wilson in Trenton, N.J.
He attended school in Trenton before he joined the U.S. Army. He served the country for more than 20 years before retiring in 1983.
He married Josephine Pellerico on Feb. 18, 1967, in New York. While serving in the Army, he was trained in the optical field where he specialized in making lenses. After his retirement from the service, he worked for several years for Cove Optical in Copperas Cove.
He also was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed making contributions to Skyward Bound Ranch.
Survivors include his wife, Josephine Wilson of Copperas Cove; daughters, Theresa Wilson of Copperas Cove and Elizabeth Benzenhafer and her husband, Joey, of Midland; sister, Emma King of Trenton, N.J.; brothers, Douglas Wilson of Copperas Cove, Johnny Wilson and his wife, June, of Hamilton, N.J., and Charles Wilson of Temple; grandchildren, Kevin Wilson, Aaron Jones, Emily, Melody and Rose Benzenhafer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
