Services for retired Sgt. 1st Class Tommy H. Moore, of Killeen, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Chong Hasang Catholic Church in Harker Heights with Father Richard O’Rourke officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.  

Mr. Moore died May 16, 2013, at a local hospital. He was born June 17, 1946, in Piedmont, Ala. He lived and went to school in Alabama until joining the Army in 1967.

Mr. Moore served in the U.S. Army for 20 years with service in Vietnam. During his service, he was awarded numerous decorations. He retired in 1987 at Fort Hood and went to work for contractors at Fort Hood, retiring in 2011. He was married to Sandy in December 1990 in Harker Heights. He was a member of St. Paul’s church and a fourth degree Knight of Columbus. He was an avid shooter, hunter and fisherman with an active sense of humor.

Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Annie Moore. Survivors include his wife, Sandy of Killeen; sons, Tommy Moore Jr. and his wife, Paula, of Spokane, Wash., and David Moore of Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.; daughters, Jenny Castillo and her husband, Abdias, of Elgin, Stacey Tinsley and her fiancé, Jason Dizon; brother, Johnny Moore or Piedmont, Ala.; sisters; Bobbie Ingram of Valdosta, Ga., and Gail McGatha of Jacksonville, Ala.; and eight grandchildren.
