Services for retired U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. William P. Williams, 83, of Kempner, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel in Copperas Cove. Interment with full military honors will follow at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.

Mr. Williams died Nov. 4, 2013. He was born in Detroit, Mich., and raised in England.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Force in Paris, France, in September 1947, at the age of 17. His 25-year career in the U.S. Air Force was followed by leadership positions in the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Civil Air Patrol.

Mr. Williams met the love of his life, Bernice Hudson, in Alexandria, La., and they shared 59 years of marriage.

Survivors include his wife, Bernice; daughter, Glynda Lucas and her husband, Rich; son, Philip Williams; son, David Williams and his wife, Carol; granddaughters, Laura Galipeau and Karen Howard and her husband, Brandon; grandson, Sage Williams; great-granddaughter, Morgan Galipeau; and one sister, Alice Robinson.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Cancer Society or Scott & White Hospice.

Scott’s Funeral Home in Copperas Cove is in charge of arrangements.
