The deadline for recognition awards from your association is only 10 days away. Midnight Friday will be the last opportunity to nominate someone for the Hall of Fame, Bowlers of the Year, Coaches and Volunteer of the Year and Merit award.
The forms for all the awards are found on the association web page at www.bowlkilleenforthood.com. The forms require considerable information that isn’t general knowledge, so your help is needed to provide that information. Without it, the recommendation will not be considered.
On Saturday, Hallmark Lanes will host the scratch Tournament of Champions beginning at 1 p.m.

Last week the senior league at Killeen Bowlerama held its summer league organizational meeting and election of officers. During the meeting, owner Jean Maxson stated that about July the only area bowlers can smoke in is the bar. Some renovating of the bar needs to be done and they are hoping it will be completed by July.
Some things to ponder:
Do you believe the rivalry between Belmonte and Rash is real, or one fabricated by the PBA?
Pete Weber with a buzz cut. Thoughts?
What’s your favorite center to bowl?
What are your thoughts on back and forth to Reno and Las Vegas for the USBC Open Tournament?
Anyone seen PBA bowler Patrick Allen lately?
Jackpot bowling is back at the Bowl! Starting Saturday, you can sign up starting at 6 p.m. and bowling starts at 6:30. $25 includes strike pot and super strike pot tickets, color pin money shots, handicap game and series with optional scratch pots.
I hope everyone had a safe Memorial Day weekend and that you took time to thank the men and women of our armed forces for their service to our country. They are the people who made it possible for the rest of us to have that backyard barbecue and live free.
God bless the men and women in uniform and all the veterans who served so honorably.
See you on the lanes.
