Eliza: I'm sure this is as good a read for the time period alone as it is to tell the reader about the actions of some who were slave owners.
But ,even though slavery was a bad situation (no man owns another in Gods eyes).I am surprised no one has ever written a story, about the 'Indentured' white servant/slave who also at times, by the choice or a relative, were sold into servitude the same as the black race from the African nations were sold. This white race servitude could develop into a life of mistreatment. Many times these servants were children.
Many times the people who the book would describe were sold by their own race and by tribes who were warring against their own individual tribe. It hasn't always been the white race who have been the enemy of the black man.No matter how much the black race are told to believe that.
